Unmute Yourself, back at DesignThinkers
"OK, you're doing this whole presentation. Don't f*ck it up."
That's what my boss once told me in the elevator on the way to a client meeting. I was a junior designer who wanted to stay in my corner and let the work speak for itself. Presenting it was the last thing I wanted to do.
But I got through it. And with more practice, talking to clients became something I actually enjoyed. The nerves didn't disappear, but I learned how to explain my thinking and connect with the people across the table.
This October, I'm bringing that conversation to RGD's DesignThinkers in Toronto, where I'll be moderating "Unmute Yourself: Strategies for speaking up and being heard." We'll share experiences and practical ways to turn our visual communication skills into stronger presentations and clearer conversations.
If you've ever hoped someone else would do the talking, pull up a chair. I promise to give you more notice than my boss gave me, and a much kinder pep talk.
October 20–21, 2026, Toronto.
